Since the academic year 2021/2022, the Languages and Intercultural Dialogue Office offers a short, intensive course which aims to prepare participants for everyday situations requiring competence in the Ukrainian language and culture. The course is based on a flipped classroom methodology to cultural-linguistic education - it combines language elements with cultural context, focusing on Ukrainian culture, history, and contemporary life.
Students are provided materials - vocabulary, quizzes in English about Ukraine, grammar structures and pronunciation tips - before class, and class time is directed towards communication tasks, roleplaying, and other pursuits which involve reflective thought.
The course involves 7 days of online tasks, followed by two 90 minutes classes. It is organized yearly during the intercultural workshops week.
