| In February 2026, a group of 12 students from the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies represented the College of Europe at the 27th edition of the London International Model United Nations (LIMUN) Conference, whose overarching theme was “Shared Futures: Building Diplomatic Pathways for Unity”. Several months of preparation for this activity resulted in a very good performance by the students who were involved in researching different topics, drafting position papers, working documents, and resolutions, as well as engaging in negotiations with other delegates from around 50 countries. The students participated in discussions in different committees, including the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Organisation of American States (OAS), the United Kingdom’s House of Commons, the European Council, an historical crisis committee on the liberation of Gran Colombia, and a ‘Special Summit’ committee debating, inter alia, an abolition of NATO. |  |
In February 2025, a diverse group of 12 students from the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies represented the College of Europe again at the 26th edition of the London International Model United Nations Conference (LIMUN). Several months of preparation for this activity resulted in a first-rate performance by the students who were involved in researching different topics, drafting position papers, working documents and resolutions as well as engaging in negotiations with other delegates from around 50 countries. The overarching theme of the Conference was “The Pursuit of Multilateralism: Fostering New Dialogues for Progress”, and the students participated in discussions related to gender equality, climate challenges, conflicts in Africa, EU migration policies, security in the Arctic, reduction of social and economic inequalities, the Congress of Vienna and the founding of the United Nations. |  |
| Between 23 and 25 February 2024, a College of Europe delegation represented by 12 students from the EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies Department took part in the 25th edition of the London International Model United Nations (LIMUN) conference. Participation at this renowned MUN event was preceded by a rigorous selection process and several months of active preparation. During this period, students gained expertise in the UN rules of procedure, the drafting of working documents, position papers and resolutions as well as public speaking skills. The months of preparation for LIMUN culminated in a commendable performance by the students who represented a wide range of countries in separate UN committees on the premises of King’s College London. Students were involved in negotiating different topics ranging from humanitarian efforts in Yemen, involuntary migration due to climate-induced disasters to the prevention of modern slavery in global supply chains and sustainable lending mechanisms for less economically development countries in committees such as SPECPOL, UNDRR, UNHRC, the IMF and many others. |  |
| In February 2023, a multinational group of 12 students from the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies successfully represented the College of Europe at the London International Model United Nations conference (LIMUN). The months of preparation for this activity, culminated in a great performance by the students who researched and drafted various position papers and debated and negotiated with other delegates from all over the world on the premises of King’s College London. They practiced researching and drafting position papers, trained in public speaking, and exchanged with other delegates for three days. The students debated a wide range of issues such as the financing of the energy transition, cyber-security, global cooperation on space science, global justice, and education in development policy in committees like SPECPOL, DISC, UNICEF, UNESCO, and COPUOS. |  |
| In April 2022, a team of 12 students of the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies participated in the Amsterdam University College Model United Nations (AUCMUN). They represented a wide variety of countries in the negotiations of the following committees: UN Security Council, Human Rights Council, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, UN Women, ECOSOC and UNESCO. They practiced researching and drafting position papers, trained in public speaking, and debated with delegates from all over the world at University College Amsterdam for three days. During the conference, the students debated a wide range of issues, namely the conflict Somalia, the role of women in education, the Syrian refugee crisis, and international financial regulation among others. |  |
