Giulio DAMIANI

Giulio holds a BA in Politics and International Relations from University College Maastricht and an MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy from Leiden University. Before becoming an Academic Assistant, Giulio worked at The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS) and the Clingendael Institute, two security-oriented think tanks based in the Netherlands. At HCSS, he supported quantitative and qualitative research on the Russo-Ukrainian War, Russian hybrid warfare, and the future of EU-US defence cooperation. At Clingendael, Giulio co-authored a report on the military and economic security of the Black Sea region and its implications for peacebuilding efforts in Ukraine. Giulio also worked in the European Relations Office of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), where he was responsible for research on social development, migrant integration, and energy poverty, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe and EU Neighbourhood countries. His research interests include European foreign and security policy, transatlantic relations, peace and conflict processes, as well as global and European history.
