Jan WOUTERS
Jan Wouters (BE) est professeur ordinaire de droit international et organisations internationales et titulaire de la Chaire Jean Monnet ad personam “EU and Global Governance” à KU Leuven. Il est également directeur fondateur de l’Institut de droit international et du Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, un centre interdisciplinaire avec le statut de centre d’excellence Jean Monnet et de centre d’excellence KU Leuven. Il est administrateur du America Europe Fund. Jan Wouters a étudié le droit et la philosophie à l’Université d’Anvers, a obtenu un LL.M. à l’Université de Yale et a été chercheur visiteur à la Harvard Law School. En tant que professeur invité à Paris-2 (Panthéon-Assas) et au Collège d’Europe il enseigne le droit des relations extérieures de l’UE. En tant que professeur adjoint à l’Université de Columbia, il enseigne le droit européen des droits de l’homme. Prof. Wouters est membre de l’Académie royale des sciences et des arts de Belgique et pratique le droit en tant que Of Counsel chez Omega Law, Anvers.
Jan Wouters est rédacteur du International Encyclopedia of Intergovernmental Organizations, directeur adjoint de la Revue belge de droit international et membre de l’équipe éditoriale de onze revues internationales. Jan Wouters a publié de nombreux ouvrages sur le droit international et européen, les organisations internationales, la gouvernance mondiale et le droit des sociétés et financier, dont plus de 80 livres, 150 articles de revues et 300 chapitres d'ouvrages internationaux. Jan Wouters a récemment coordonné un grand Horizon 2020 projet RECONNECT (2018-22) et un programme de recherche multidisciplinaire de six ans, CONNECTIVITY (« Connectivity, Contestation and Cooperation in Global Governance »), financé par la KU Leuven. Outre sa participation à des réseaux scientifiques internationaux, il conseille de temps à autre des organisations internationales et des gouvernements, forme des fonctionnaires internationaux et est souvent invité à commenter les développements internationaux et européens dans les médias.
