Students on our Tirana campus all follow a compulsory language course, which runs through both semesters and counts for 4 ECTS. Following a French placement test organised at the start of the first semester, students who are assessed to have a level of French that is lower than the required level of B1 are registered to follow a French B1 course. Students who already have sufficient knowledge of French may decide either to further improve their French by following a B2 or a C1 level course or instead follow a language course in Albanian or German or an Introduction to languages of the region.
The ETI programme thus offers six language courses with individual entry and graduation requirements for each language as specified in the respective ECTS cards:
Students with a low level of French may also benefit from following an intensive French course prior to the beginning of the academic year, financially supported by the Embassy of France in Albania. Both this intensive course and all other French courses of our Tirana campus are organised in cooperation with the Albanian branch of the Alliance Française.
The German language course of the Tirana campus of the College of Europe is organised with the financial support of Goethe-Institut Belgium in cooperation with the Goethe-Zentrum Tirana.
