Professor Vansteenkiste appointed Principal Counsellor to ECB President Christine Lagarde

We congratulate our faculty member from the European Economic Studies Department, Isabel VANSTEENKISTE, on her new role at the European Central Bank (ECB) as Principal Counsellor to President Christine LAGARDE and Coordinator of the Counsel to the Executive Board.

Ms. Vansteenkiste has been working at the ECB for 23 years and is moving from her previous role as Director General International and European Relations on 15 September. At the College of Europe, Professor Vansteenkiste delivers a course on Sustainable Finance alongside her colleague, Professor Paul HIEBERT.

We wish her all the best in her new role, where she will advise the President on a wide range of economic and strategic policy matters and support preparations for Executive Board and Governing Council meetings, as well as for high-level international engagements. She will also oversee the work of the Counsel to the Executive Board.
