College of Europe in Tirana Career Office

At the College of Europe in Tirana, we prepare future leaders to create positive change in their communities, countries and the EU. Our students gain the skills and knowledge they need to address today's challenges.

We actively collaborate with institutions, organisations, and potential employers from both the public and private sectors to improve our students' career prospects. These partnerships are important as they provide valuable insights, resources, and networking opportunities that help our students explore career options and build professional connections.

Our Mission

We create pathways for all our students to explore, pursue, and achieve fulfilling careers through personalised coaching, skills development workshops, and a network of opportunities and connections.

PATH: Our Career Framework

We view career development as a journey. Our resources and strategies align with the PATH Career Framework, our approach to supporting professional growth. We prepare students for leadership roles in the private, public, and non-profit sectors, with a special focus on careers within EU institutions. This includes preparation for EPSO competitions and Blue Book traineeship applications, two important pathways towards careers in EU institutions. This focus on EU affairs helps students succeed in roles that shape policies and influence the future of Europe.

PATH - Our Career Framework
PATH stands for Prepare, Articulate, Target, and Head for Growth, the four stages shown above.

1. Prepare for Success

Individual Counselling: Personalised one-to-one sessions for career exploration, including in-depth reviews of CVs, cover letters and motivation letters, LinkedIn optimisation, interview preparation, and effective networking strategies. Every student in the programme has access to this service throughout the year.

Workshops: Group sessions on CV revision, cover letter and motivation letter writing, interview preparation, and personal branding. Participants leave with clear next steps and stronger materials to present themselves with confidence.

2. Articulate Your Story

Personal Narrative Development: Our career counsellor helps students describe their strengths and experience clearly. Through tailored guidance, students learn how to write CVs, cover letters or motivation letters, and professional profiles that clearly reflect their strengths, experience, and career goals.

3. Targeted Networking

Professional Connections: Our network of alumni and professionals connects students with people and opportunities relevant to their career goals. We facilitate networking events and provide students with strategies for effective relationship-building.

4. Head for Growth

Continuous Learning: Personalised coaching sessions, group workshops, and self-paced learning materials support students' career growth over time. Our services include career talks, study visits, leadership skills sessions covering interpersonal communication and conflict management, and Professional Development initiatives that encourage exploration and build new skills.
