Exploring the EU Green Agenda: CoE Professors & Alumni at the 2025 Corfu Summer School by ELMAA
On 21-25 July 2025, the European Law Masters Alumni Association (ELMAA) brought together legal scholars, practitioners, and students from across Europe and beyond for the “Greening EU Law” Summer School in Corfu Island, addressing pressing challenges in EU environmental protection, energy policy, and the climate agenda.
We were thrilled to see such a strong College of Europe presence at this year’s event! Our Professors Ioannis LIANOS and Beate SJÅFJELL, Senior Academic Assistant Erriketi TLA DA SILVA, as well as several alumni – CJEU Advocate General Tamara CAPETA, Antonios BOUCHAGIAR, Eulalia SANFRUTOS CANO, and Alexandros POLITIS – shared their expertise with the participants, leading discussions on the EU’s legal response to environmental challenges, from precautionary principles to the Green Deal and sustainable corporate governance. CoE graduates Jeanne CAPELLE, Lino VÖLZKE, and Vincenzo Saverio ALFIO also took part in the Summer School, contributing with their insights and enthusiasm to the engaging an dynamic learning environment!
We thank the European Law Masters Alumni Association, the Ionian University of Corfu, and the Corfu Bar Association for providing such an exceptional platform for academic exchange and professional development. Special thanks to our alumni and organisers Erriketi TLA DA SILVA, Alexandros POLITIS, and Alexandros BELLIS for making this year’s edition a remarkable success!
