The European Civilization Chair of the College of Europe in Natolin was pleased to host a special lecture titled: "From the Pheasantry to the Natolin Park" delivered by Prof. Aleksandra JAKÓBCZYK-GOLA.
The lecture explained the origins, functions, and development of the Natolin park, making connections between art, nature, and estate management in the landscape.
About the speaker:
Prof. Aleksandra JAKÓBCZYK-GOLA is a historian of art and literature, and the Head of the Scientific Department at the Polish History Museum. Among her publications are the books "Cabinets and Gardens: Polish Modern Architectural Treatises on the Culture of Collecting" (Warsaw: Wydawnictwa Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego, 2019), and "Gardens of Animals: Old-Polish Deerparks and Menageries" (Warsaw: Muzeum Historii Polskiego, 2021).
